Prevention Specialist

There is a contractual position available (35 hour work week that aligns with the school year calendar) for:

Shalom, Inc. is a 46 year old nonprofit, non-sectarian agency that provides Prevention Services in Philadelphia’s public, private and charter schools. There is a contractual position available (35 hour work week that aligns with the school year calendar) for:
- Working with youth in grades K through 12 providing evidenced based drug & alcohol and violence curricula in classroom or small group settings.
- Facilitating individual and/or small group sessions on issues pertinent to the adolescent population, namely, behavioral concerns, grief and loss, depression and relationship concerns.
Qualifications:
The candidate should have a Bachelor or Master level degree in studies related to psychology, education, behavioral health, and/or school counseling.
- Child Abuse, Criminal Justice, and FBI fingerprint clearances are required.
- Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Must have valid driver’s license, car and proof of current insurance policy
Expectations:
- Conscientiously and accurately gather data for required documentation for the Office of Behavioral Health or other funding source. Reports must be submitted on time. This requires strong organizational and time management skills.
- Possess good classroom management skills
